1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection).
4) When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange).
note: press 4 times for waste ink counter reset.
5) Unplug cable power. (for MP145 / MP150).
6) Turn Off Power. (for MP160).

Waste Ink Counter Reset.
Step 1 : Manual Temporary Only
1. lepas kabel power dan kabel USB.
2. Buka pintu dan tekan/tahan tombol Power.
3. insert kabel power.
4. Tutup pintu, kemudian lepas tombol Power
For Reset by software
or Step 1: Manual for service mode
1. Turn off the printer. And disconnect the printer cable.
2. Press and hold the POWER button, turn on the printer.
3. The indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button , the indicator (L.E.D.) should be orange.
5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
6. Release both buttons.
step 2 : Software for Permanen
1. Reconnect the printer cable.
2. Open General Tools software and select (USB PORT)
3. Choose (SET DESTINATION 1) And it should be reset.

I thinking about buying the new Canon Pixma MP970 printer to replace
my ageing HP PSC750.
I've googled for reviews of the printer, but I can't find any.

You are better off with an Epson V700 scanner and a Canon IP4500 printer. Each is the best in its class and when one wears out you still have the other. Be sure to use OEM ink.

Canon Pixma iP1980 printers have the same problems and complaints with the Pixma iP1880. So if you have some problems with the printer Pixma iP 1980, try to use the General tool (Resetter) Canon Pixma iP1880 Printer. Trust me, this resetter would work well. Try it and Good Luck.These are the steps:

It looks like either Sudhaus's redsetter, or a clone of Sudhaus's
redsetter.
It takes a battery(CR2032), but it's easy enough to crack open the
case an replace it.

According to them it's good for 1500 resets. Even 150 resets
represents represents 30 cartridge changes for a given printer. There
is every reason to believe that a given resetter will last as long as
your printer on one battery.
There is also a bluesetter on the market, but the only place that
sells them that I know about wants a good deal more than $30 for it.

Keluarkan cartrigenya,
Lepaskan steker dari stok kontak,
Tutup panel atas,
Tahan tombol RESUME/RESET dan pasangkan steker ke stop kontak,
Lepaskan tombol RESUME/RESET,
Dalam waktu kurang dari 5 detik, tekan tombol RESUME/RESET sekali,
Tekan tombol RESUME/RESET selama 2 detik atau lebih, lepaskan,
Ulangi sekali lagi, tekan tombol RESUME/RESET selama 2 detik atau lebih,
lepaskan
Selesai.
Kalau untuk Canon Pixma 4200, saya tidak tahu, namun kalau di printer hanya ada
satu tombol, seperti printer Canon BJC2100SP, bisa dicoba cara di atas.

Epson or Canon Photo Printers (not AIO)
Hi all,
I saw a Canon vs Epson thread but I am looking more at photo printers and
best photo quality.
Its time to replace my aging Epson R210.
Many years back, I owned an HP deskjet 400 but decided their quality was at
most third amongst the Top 3 (Epson, Canon, HP).
Canon almost died with crap quality when Epson released their 1440 dpi
printers (canon had standard 360dpi and premium model 600dpi) many years ago
but have since bounced back very strong in recent years.
The Epson R230 would have been a very good replacement but I also wanted
something of a later generation too. Problem is I want it in this small size
and both Canon and Epson seems to think we have alot of table space. All
their newer photo printers are huge! In anycase, would like to seek opinions
because since my first bubblejet (Canon BJ210) many years back, I have not
been using Canon since. I only need A4.
Here is what I have compared so far :
1. Epson uses 5 colours and 1 Black. Canon uses 3 colours and 2 blacks. That
seems to indicate Epson has an edge in colour rendition.
2. Epson cartridges cost slightly more than Canon ones but that does not say
anything about their price/capacity though. I was told the Canon print head
can be user purchased and replaced if needed but not sure if this applies to
the latest models. Epson's print head cannot be changed.
3 Epson has epson for thick matt photo paper which canon does not. This
gives really nice magazine-like matt prints.I do not like gloss.
Epson also appear to have a wider range of media to choose from.
4. Epson has its photo enhance mode. Canon has a "colour correction" mode.
5. Both can print CDs.
6. Canon has 9600x2400 dpi whereas Epson has 5760x1440 only.
(My current R210 only has 2880x1440 and it prints stunning photos already)
7. Canon can print multiple pages per page as well as double sided. Epson
cannot.
8. My scanner is an Epson Perfection V100. It works very well with the Epson
R210. Not sure about the canon.
Anyway, I am comparing the Epson R270/290 against the Canon IP46xx/IP45xx
series. Any views on this is appreciated.

How to bypass a cartridge expiration date
I just tore into mine and found the battery and I am just waiting an hour to re-install it so I can't tell you for sure if it worked for me. But this is how you get to the battery. From the rear of the printer remove the rear feeder by depressing both buttons and lifting away from the body of the printer. Next remove the right darker grey cover by removing two T-20 Torx head screws, one on top and the other under the feeder tray you just removed. Slide the cover back about an inch and then pull out. Under that cover you will see a metal plate mounted vertically that has three T10 Torx screws that you will need to remove.
Once you have done that you can tip that plate out and see the battery. Depending on how nimble your fingers are you can determine if and which cables you need to unplug to get to the battery. With my fat hands I needed to remove 4 of the cables that plug into that board. Once I did that I was able to get to the battery and pulled it out. It looks just like the one pictured on the other site. Hopefully I haven't done anything to fry a component. I will write again in a while and let you know how it turned out.

Canon i860 printer 3e ink empty in few hours
We are using the Canon i860 desktop color printer.
This printer comes with 5 color ink cartridges.
Last few months, after we installed new Canon 3e - the large black ink
cartridge, ink will be empty within few hours, even without printing
anything. So far, we went through 6 new ink cartridges. We also clean and
replaced the print head assembly (we purchased 2 new printer heads) with the
same result. Any one out there has the same experiences and how to fix this
problem?

Canon MP960 mutifunction printer
I know only bulk ink. Hobbicolors (e-bay sales) comes highly
recommended. My last batch of ink I bought for a 5 tank model was
from inksupply.com. I should take the time to do a print with the MIS
ink from inksupply. I've used a ton of MIS ink in an ip3000, and the
ip5200. I've used 2oz of hobbicolors UV8 ink.

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal..

if the led still blinking :
1. turn the power off.
2. plug the power cable off.
3. press & hold power button, plug power cable
4. press resume button twice !!
5. release power button.
6. turn the printer on again.
if the led still blinking, do that ways several times (in my case, i repeat it 5 times)

ip1200
aku baru aja refill CL-41 buat ip1200-ku, buka/cungkil aja cover warna abu2 pakai obeng kecil, lalu suntikkin tinta refill kit Dataprint DP005 sesuai warna tinta yg ada pada busa catridge, lalu tutup lagi covernya pakai lem silicon.
kalau pada saat dipasang lampu blinking :
1. matikan power.
2. cabut kabel power.
3. tekan tombol power, jangan dilepas dulu
4. tekan tombol resume 2x !!
5. lepas tombol power.
6. coba hidupkan lagi printer.
kalau masih blinking, lakukan sara diatas beberapa kali (aku ampe 5x baru ok)

ink waste absorber Pixma ip1000 Reset
Here's some tips for your Canon Pixma IP1000. I have two IP1000 printer, one is broken because the head need to be replaced, but the other is still powerful. I like this printer because the simple operational
the low budget, the one that I like most is the fast printing.
The problem that I have when using this printer is when the ink waste absorber is full, and he start to blink. Ok guys, Here's some tips for you who still use this printer.
How to physically change the ink waste absorber? Pixma ip1000
The waste ink absorbers can be found at the bottom of the printer case.
Normally you'll have to open the printer case, loose the screws of the print unit and remove the hole print unit from the lower part of the printer case.
4 step to Reset waste ink tank counter CANON PIXMA iP 1000
STEP 1:- Disconnect printer from AC power
STEP 2:- Press and HOLD the POWER button, and connect printer to AC power
STEP 3:- release the the POWER button
STEP 4:- Press the POWER button again
If your IP1000 Blinking try this Tips :
Step 1: Manual for Service mode
1. Unplug POWER and USB cables.
2. Open door, PRESS and HOLD the POWER button.
3. Connect the POWER cable.
4. Close door, then release POWER button.
5. Power ON your printer a usual (It should not blinking anymore)
Step 2 : Software for Permanant
1. Reconnect the USB cable and turn ON your Printer
2. Open "General Tools for iP1500", Downloadh The Software here
3. Select (USB PORT)
4. Choose CLEAR WASTE INK COUNTER - MAIN
5. Choose CLEAR WASTE INK COUNTER - PLATEN
It should be working, coz my printer now work normally
Notes. Before you decide to reseting the waste ink counter, you should really clean up the ink absorber, or else you will find the ink watse absorber overflow...
